Church Logo

Following the communications meeting on
June 17th it was decided that the church
would invite suggestions for a “Church
Logo” to be used on all correspondence and
the website. This could be in any form but
would need to specifically identify the
church. If anyone would like to submit ideas
by the closing date of September 1st please
either put them in the magazine box in the
foyer or send them by email to
fairwaterpres@hotmail.co.uk.

Kitchen

Alternations have commenced in the
Kitchen to comply with Health & Safety
and make the kitchen easy to clean.
Would organisation leaders and users
please note that dishes from the kitchen
are now stored in the New Room to the
left of the kitchen hatch. It is intended
during the summer months to replace the
open racking in the kitchen with a small
unit to house items used on a weekly
basis. The remainder will be in the New
room cupboard. The racking will not be
wasted as it is intended to be used in the
attic area. If any user has a query please
see Jenny or Audrey.

Church Cleaning.

A cleaner is need to service the Church
toilets, Kitchen and New room during
School Term times only. If you are
interested in this position, or know of
someone who may be interested, please
contact Jenny Barnes. A small numeration is offered.

Church Gardens

During the coming three or four months the
grass around the Church will require cutting,
ideally on a weekly basis. As I have a full-
time work commitment this additional task is
too much for me to maintain on my own and I
would therefore welcome any help offered. I
will place a rota sheet on the notice board in
the foyer of the Church and if you feel you can
assist with the grass cutting please add your
name. I will continue to maintain the flower
beds – it is just the grass cutting over the
summer months that is likely to present a
problem. If you would like any further
information please speak to me. Thank you.
Philip Reardon

Harvest

The Harvest Service takes place on 26th
September. The Church will be open for
members and friends to bring along their
Harvest Gift for display on Friday
afternoon 24th September between 3 p.m.
and 6 p.m. when a team will be
decorating the Church. Please come along
with your gift and help with the
decorating if you wish. Tea/Coffee and
cakes will be served during this time.

Prayer List for August

Since our last magazine the Reardon family has suffered a bereavement, in the death of Mrs Enid Reardon, Sue (Miss) and Paul have lost their mother, Sue (Mrs) her mother-in-law and Christopher, Richard, Philip and Matthew their grandmother.. This has been a double blow for the family of Joyce Curtis whose son Brian very recently lost his daughter Georgina, so Joyce has lost her granddaughter and Sue and Paul a niece. Please remember them and the whole family which is in real need of our prayerful support at this very sad and distressing time. Can you also pray for Becky and Hannah Stephens who helped Steven run the Bible Club last October
following the death of their mother Sue who passed away on July 9th.

It was good to hear that Rev Leslie Jones is making steady progress and it was good to see Jim Paul and Margaret in Church again.

The following friends continue to need the support of our ongoing prayers:-

Sylvia Hustwick, Margaret Smith from St Peters who has asked for our prayers, Bill Hardiman, Joyce Long and all the family, Alma Silver, Ron & Margaret Walters, David Ellis, Julie Milligan, Cliff and Min Harris, Sylvia Bowring, Ron and Ted Ellis, Mrs Fairchild, Tom Baldwin and family, Andrea Charles (Jenny Dawkins’ sister), Sandra Plageman (Marilyn Barrington’s sister), Min Harris and Hazel Burrows.

Even if some of these people are not able to share fellowship with us they need not be out of mind when we pray, even if some of them are not familiar to all of us. The important thing is, they are all known to God and we can pray to Him on their behalf. Truly beleiving that when we commend these friends to God in this way we are heard and listened to by Him, we can be confident that our prayers will be of great benefit to them.

Let us never forget to thank God for answered prayers.

“I love the Lord because He hears me; He listens to my prayers. He listens every time I call to Him”. Psalm 116 verses 1 and 2

Please remember to inform Rev Geoffrey Barrington or Audrey Boase, our visitation co-ordinator, if you hear of anyone who would appreciate being put on the prayer list. or is in need of support in any way.
